low budget accomodation tobago needed

We are going to Barbados for one week then touring St.Vincent and Grenadines to Tobago and Trinidad is it neccessary to pre book flights and accomodation in feb9-march10 2008?We would like to just go and wing it and see if we could travel by fishing boats or ferries or whatever we could get a ride with to island hop but wonder if we should pre book flights as there is no ferry between barbados and st.vincent or grenada and tobago.We start in barbados at a week long booked guest house and have to be back there (Barbados)to get our plane back on march 13 2008. We are on a tight budget any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

We are a Canadian couple Tim 36 Ginny 42 looking for low budget accomodation in Tobago near Castara and other out of the way places.We would like to stay with basic accomodation and to hang with locals.Any help would be appreciated.Our itinerary would put us in tobago between feb20-march 10 at the latest.Would like to meet up with another couple with similar dates and plans.
